Happy Memorial Day, everyone! I hope that you are enjoying your long weekend, I know we are. :) We relaxed today, Paul was at work all day yesterday, and tomorrow he is taking the boys to the USS Missouri and the Pacific Air Muesum (I think that's what it is called, and because of that, it's probably wrong ;) ), and when Caitlynn awakes from her nap, we are all going to visit the Oklahoma Memorial (we went past it today, as it is right on Ford Island, the little island off of Oahu that we live on, on the way to the pool) and probably the Utah Memorial as well, and pay our respects. We would do the Arizona Memorial, and we may go to the edge of the island, just so we can pay our resects there, and most likely through flowers into the ocean. Celebrating Memorial Day where so much military history has happened (especially on the really little island that we live on), is, in a couple of words, simply amazing. Seriously. Just to see so many people pay their respects to the ones who have lost their lives for this country, and also, in the same respect, paying respect to those that are deployed and overseas as well, it's truly awesome. I wish I had better words for it, but I have a lack of vocab this late at night. I hope to have photos to share with all of you tomorrow, of all the places we go and see.
On another note, I do have some photos, and then, lastly, some layouts, to show you.
These are Caitlynn at the beach a couple of weeks ago. She is a true Peckham, that is for sure. We all LOVE the beach! :)
And here is Brendan, very determined, in our little pool in our front yard:
Here is another one of our cute dog, Buddy. Seriously, one of the best dogs ever, still. He loves all of us and lets us know EVERYDAY (I have never been licked so much by a dog, ever...lol!).
Here is Alex at one of our very cool parks in one of our housing developments here. He LOVED these water spouts/sprinklers/whatever you want to call them.
And here is some work I have been up to. The first layout I did featuring the May kit from Simply Cardstock and parts of the May kit from Work In Progress.
I did this layout for the Random Chaos blog this week. Our challenge was to do a 6x12 layout.
And I was asked to be a guest designer for the Color Combos Galore Blog (never been asked that before, ever, so thank you, Janet, so much, for the opportunity!). I picked colors off of Caitlynn's bathing suit (of which I am going to have to retire soon, as it was bought pre-major growth spurt).
Ok, so I think thats it for now. I hope to be back tomorrow or the next day with more photos from this weekend. Have a wonderful, and blessed, Memorial Day, everyone. :)
Aloha,
~M
